A rapid escalation of tariffs in the 1920s leads to a global financial disaster. Following a 1929 US stock market crash, the Great Depression begins. Its impact quickly spreads worldwide, and economic decline and stagnation defines the 1930s.

ITR Economics is founded by Chapin Hoskins, an editor at Forbes Magazine. Hoskins was researching economic theory to determine whether there was a way for someone to have seen the Great Depression coming before it was too late.

A financial and banking crisis fuels a substantial downturn in the housing market, leading to the beginning of the Great Recession in December 2007. The downturn lasts until June 2009.

2010 - “Make Your Move,” Brian and Alan Beaulieu’s first book, is published. It outlines ITR Economics’ unique methodology to help businesses lead with confidence amid a changing economy.
2014 - Brian and Alan Beaulieu first publish a forecast for the 2030s depression with the release of their book “Prosperity in the Age of Decline.”
2014 - Brian and Alan Beaulieu release “But I Want It,” a children’s book, to positively influence the spending habits of young readers. Proceeds of the book are donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.
